There have been some blog posts going around about “signs feminism may not be for you.”

In reality, there is only one sign.  If you believe that men are human beings and deserve human rights, feminism is not for you.  It’s as simple as that.  Feminists see men as “undesirables,” “unpeople,” and “resources to be exploited.”

Feminism has enjoyed some very good publicity.  Publicity it does not deserve.  Many people buy into the lie that “feminism is the radical notion that women are people.”  The reality is that feminism is the notion that only women are people.  Most people recognize that women are people.  But more and more are also recognizing feminism for the sham that it is.

Feminists will claim that women make 42% of what men earn for the same work.  (The figure varies with the telling.)  While that would certainly be deplorable if it were true, the claim does not hold water.  Any examination of the actions of businesses will reveal that they will do anything to save a buck.  They will dump waste in rivers rather than pay for appropriate treatment and storage.  They will send jobs overseas where slave-labor is available.  They will hire desperate undocumented immigrants so that they can pay less than minimum wage.  If they could really pay women less than men, they would only hire women.

In rape cases, feminists will regard any consideration that the (male) accused might be innocent to be “victim blaming” and “misogyny.”  But the fact is that men do get wrongly accused and even wrongly convicted.  But feminists insist that the accuser should get the benefit of the doubt and that an accusation should be as good as a conviction.

Feminists will say that feminism is good for men too.  But the fact is that it is not.  If you look at what feminism actually does, what it fights for, you will find that feminism thinks that men exist only to breed, labor, serve, and die.

  1. If you believe that men are human beings and deserve human rights, feminism is not for you.
I always thought “feminism” was just people trying to get across the idea that both genders should have the same civil rights and respect(s)? Are you sure you’re not lumping together the extreme spectrum of feminism with the mainstream version here?

  2.      Give me a solid reason to believe that the “mainstream” are not just cover for the “extremists.” What I see is that the “mainstream” try to placate critics into inaction so that the “extremists” can get laws passed to their liking — laws like when a man is a victim of domestic violence, he goes to jail. Show me any feminist who argues before Congress against that. I look at what feminism does and how it has sought to change the laws and the landscape. I do not see any pursuit of “same civil rights and respect.” I see women-only scholarships. I see women-only facilities. But don’t you dare even think about having any men-only spaces.

  3. What evidence do yo have that the “mainstream” are “just a cover for the extremists”? Are you saying then that that’s what ALL feminism is?

…laws like when a man is a victim of domestic violence, he goes to jail.
    Huh?

It’s just about equal rights…equal time. Example of one being denied such is here:

Wouldn’t you agree that this was unfair to her?

  4. Reynold:

You ask what evidence I have. But only the “extreme” or “radicals” go to Washington to have an effect on the laws. All other feminists stay home to tell anyone else to “let the feminists handle it.”

         “Huh?”

Did I stutter? The laws are written to assume the perpetrator must be the man. So, when the man is the victim, he is the one arrested and thrown in jail anyway. More generally, the police are instructed to determine who will be declared the perpetrator based on physical characteristics highly correlated with being male and not to pay attention to (for example) who is actually injured.

You direct me to the very inappropriately named “freethoughtblogs”? Did you know that it is easy to get banned there? Any disagreement with feminism, no matter how slight, gets you banned. Ah, but perhaps you haven’t experienced that. Here is a link to an earlier post of mine, where I found PZ Meyers, himself, lying about someone else. I am not inclined to take anything on that site at face value. Their use of “dudebro” is not dissimilar to the klan using “nigger.” It is not a site I trust. The only surprising thing, given that they can make anything up to disparage non-feminist thinking, is that she didn’t say it was in the last five years.
